Two levels of competition – Rank A (1500 meters) and Rank B (3200 meters). Swimmers of all ages and from all over the country participated to the race. The swimming conditions were not so great – very windy and hard breaking waves (comments I heard on the beach while waiting for my friend Gina to arrive).
“The Amor de Temporada Boardwalk” was full of people, they were all waiting for the arrival of the swimmers. Different sponsors displayed their product in the park, in addition to the local food vendors.
And so my friend Gina arrived. She participated in the 3,200 meters race and did a great time – 46 min. Results are not yet tabulated so we are not sure in what place she arrived. I am very proud of her! Congrats lady! Gina does not dedicate herself to swimming anymore as she once did back in college.
She moved to Costa Rica in 2010 where she is pursuing her passion for Yoga. She teaches group and private classes here in Playas del Coco and the surrounding areas. If you happen to be here and would like to join one of her classes, feel free to contact Gina.
All in all the Open Water competition was a success, now I am going out to the park again where my volleyball team will play in the final at 3:30pm. I hope to come home with a gold medal! 😉
Happy Sunday everyone!
