Good Morning Health!

What a better way than to start your morning with a freshly made smoothie? Since I started my new lifestyle, I have had smoothies on a daily basis after my morning walk. They are great for the early breakfast! Who wants to have boiled eggs and cucumbers at 6:30 in the morning? So, in case you want to do just like me, and start your morning with a smoothie, I thought I would share my 3 favorite smoothies. I have decided to name them, just as if I was a famous chef! 😉

Purple on the Rocks

In a blender, mix the following ingredients:

  • 4 large frozen strawberries
  • 1/3 cup of frozen blueberries
  • 1 large slice of pineapple (1 in. thick) ~ don’t take the core out, it’s good for your skin
  • 2 large spoons of natural yogurt
  • 2 large spoons of Flaxseeds
  • 1/3 cup of cold water

Papayaramma

In a blender, mix the following ingredients:

  • 1 large cup of papaya (cut in 1 in. cubes)
  • 1/2 cup of soy milk (I use the original one, but you can have the vanilla one)
  • 2 large spoons of Flaxseeds
  • 1/3 cup of cold water

Citrus Circus

In a blender, mix the following ingredients:

  • 2 large slices of pineapple (1 in. thick) ~ don’t take the core out, it’s good for your skin
  • 1/2 of a medium-sized cucumber (peeled)
  • 1/3 cup of very ripe mango
  • 1/3 cup of freshly pressed orange juice
  • 2 large spoons of flax-seeds
  • 1/3 cup of cold water

As you might have noticed, I do not add any sugar to any of these recipes, they are not super sweet, but sweet enough for me. Fruits have natural sugars so our bodies should not feel the need for extra sugar. I also use flax-seed in all the smoothies. Flax-seed is very high in fiber, Omega-3 and lignans which have anti-tumor properties.

I strongly recommend to start your morning with a smoothie, I have done this for the past 7 weeks and I feel much more energized than before. Let me know if you like them!

On this note, Cheers to a healthy lifestyle!
